Servant-Leadership at Hope Church
Are You Called To Serve?
In the family of God, leadership means something much different than it means in the world. Leadership means becoming least, becoming last – and putting Christ and His Kingdom first. A.W. Tozer once had this to say about leadership in the church family:
“A true and safe leader is likely to be one who has no desire to lead, but is forced into a position of leadership by the inward pressure of the Holy Spirit and the press of the external situation. Such were Moses and David and the Old Testament prophets. I think there was hardly a great leader from Paul to the present day but that was drafted by the Holy Spirit for the task, and commissioned by the Lord of the Church to fill a position he had little heart for. I believe it might be accepted as a fairly reliable rule of thumb that the man who is ambitious to lead is disqualified as a leader. The true leader will have no desire to lord it over God’s heritage, but will be humble, gentle, self-sacrificing, and altogether as ready to follow as to lead, when the Spirit makes it clear that a wiser and more gifted man that himself has appeared.”
So how has God called you to serve?
Whether during the Worship Service or a Bible Study or Small Group, dedicated and loving children’s ministry volunteers are absolutely vital to the life of Hope Church. As part of the Children’s Ministry team, you have the opportunity to impact both the lives of children and their families for eternity – just by helping make a craft, hold a tiny hand, or sing “Jesus Loves Me”. Jesus called the children to come to Him, and it is our honor to echo that call to families throughout the Twin Cities.
Bible Studies and Sunday School Classes
What are the needs that you are seeing in the life of Hope Church and in the Apple Valley community? A desire to dig deeper into a certain portion of God’s Word? The opportunity to care for those in need in our surrounding neighborhoods? A space for fellowship for believers to encourage each other in their faith in Christ? Biblical community is where all of the needs can be met, but Biblical community doesn’t just happen by accident – it requires leadership. Are you ready to lead? Worship Service Music & Hospitality
Whether you love to sing, play the drums, or warmly greet those who have come to worship, being a part of the Worship Service Music & Hospitality teams is a rewarding and needed ministry. Leaders of all ages, backgrounds and gifting are needed in a variety of areas to help our church family gather together for worship each Sunday.
